Private Projects is a new bidding service provided by the Syracuse Builders Exchange (SBE) for general contractors, construction managers, owners, engineers and architects, (herein referred to as "Manager").
Occasionally it is important to restrict the number of bidders to a select list of subcontractors and suppliers with the specific capabilities the Manager requires, and a proven record of success with the Manager's company. SBE's newest electronic plan room bidding feature provides Managers with the electronic vehicle to control via any computer private, negotiated projects.
Private Projects allows the GC, CM, owner, engineer or architect to control who views the construction project data, plans, specs and addenda. The Manager controls who has access to the project while SBE does all the behind the scenes work. SBE scans, labels and posts the entire project to our server and will administer the entire project throughout the project bidding stages, including passwords and project codes.
Invitation to bid a specific project is controlled by the Manager. The information is tailored specifically to the Manager's request to meet the needs of the selected bidders. This information may be e-mailed, faxed, printed or mailed to the Manager's chosen subcontractors or suppliers. Bids the Manager receives from selected subcontractors or suppliers save the Manager from reviewing bids from companies who may not be qualified.
Each private project is assigned a project code. SBE members and non-members alike may log in using their user name and password; however, access to a specific private project will be denied unless the user obtains the project- specific code from the Manager. Once in the private project, the user has access to all project data, bidders lists, plans, addenda and specs. The user may review the entire project information on-line or print, download or e-mail this information to manufacturers.
Private Projects also allows the Manager to know which subcontractor or supplier has reviewed the Manager's project and when. The Manager may also follow the progress of all bidders who access the project, including specific user activity while reviewing the project.
